Claire Ordoyno, SPEERI Executive Director

Claire Ordoyno is the SPEERI Executive Director, leading the strategic development of SPEERI and delivering initiatives to drive forward collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector.

Claire holds a first-class degree in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde. With over two decades of experience spanning both industry and academia, she has worked with a diverse range of global stakeholders in both start-up and multinational organisations, and is skilled in creating and developing complex multidisciplinary collaborations within science and engineering.

Prior to her role as SPEERI Executive Director, Claire was Executive Director of SRPe.

Jennifer Smart, SPEERI Deputy Director (Energy)

Jennifer leads on SPEERI’s energy portfolio of activity and brings over 25 years of industry experience in construction, built environment, energy & utilities.  A qualified Civil and Environmental Engineer with a passion for sustainable solutions to support a greener, cleaner world.  She is highly experienced in multi-strand engagement programmes that deliver impactful outcomes and is an established leader within Scotland’s sustainability, built environment and energy landscape.

Natasha Madeira, ETP Business Development Manager for Hydrogen

After 12 years with ETP, Natasha currently leads on our Scottish Government-funded Hydrogen Innovation Programme (HIP) as the ETP Business Development Manager for Hydrogen where she supports collaboration between low-carbon and green hydrogen innovators and researchers. Previously, Natasha was the ETP BDM for Energy Systems, which also encompassed the role of hydrogen within a low-carbon energy system. This role was established following her work as ETP’s International Collaboration Manager for the European North Sea Energy Alliance, which raised awareness of Energy Systems Integration challenges around the North Sea regions, and the need for a whole-systems approach. She also brings over a decade of business development and consultancy experience from wider academia and environmental consulting.

Jennifer Smith, Project Officer

Jenny is the SPEERI Project Officer and part of the Core Team, her role includes project managing the Innovation Programmes and various events. She has been with ETP since 2011 and brings the legacy of its impact in knowledge exchange for energy research and innovation to SPEERI. She has a background in Graphic Design and 17 years’ experience in managing events that bring academia, industry and public sector together.

Andrew Dryden, Theme Coordinator

Andrew Dryden is the SPEERI Theme Coordinator, working closely with the SPEERI Executive Team in supporting the growth and development of the SPEERI Strategic Themes.

Prior to the formation of SPEERI from SRPe and ETP, Andrew was SRPe Administrator, providing administrative support across the SRPe Programmes and Strategic Themes. Andrew has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow and a background in the Travel & Tourism industry, previously working with VisitScotland as a Visitor Services Advisor.

Katrina Montgomery, Administrator

Katrina is the SPEERI Administrator, providing administrative support to the wider team and across the innovation programmes, including event planning and coordination. She brings over 25 years of experience in administration, with a background in recruitment and call centre operations. Her expertise ensures the smooth running of day-to-day activities.

Alex Ramsden, Communications Assistant

Alex is the SPEERI Communications Assistant. She supports the Partnership’s communications output, covering social media, the newsletter, and other day-to-day comms.

She holds a masters degree in International Multimedia Journalism from Newcastle University. Prior to SPEERI, Alex was the Communications Assistant at ETP. She brings more than three years of experience in communications and marketing from a wide range of industries to the team.
