Our Governance
Our governance structure is formed of three core groups, connected through our SPEERI board. Together, these groups form a robust advisory network that acts as champions for SPEERI activity, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, ensures relevance to stakeholders, and strengthens strategic alignment across Scotland’s energy and engineering research initiatives.
We have two core academic groups with representation from across our academic network with members representing each thematic area.
Supporting the core academic advisory groups is the SPEERI External Advisory Board, which serves as a central strategic body. It includes key stakeholders from across the Scottish energy and engineering ecosystem, such as industry representatives, government agencies, funding councils, and innovation centres. This board provides external insights and strategic direction to ensure alignment with national priorities and industry needs.
